LISA BRAUN
LISA BRAUNARTISTIC DIRECTOR, MAINSTAGE DIRECTOR, JUNIOR YEAR 2 & 3 DIRECTOR, PERFORMANCE CLASS DIRECTOR
With credits that include lighting, sound, design, performance, stage management, costume, makeup and directing, Lisa Braun has a rich and varied history in the theatrical arts. Her passion for performance began before she could even speak – her love of song developed over the years to incorporate 12 years of private vocal training.
While her children were small, she kept one foot in the world of theatre by working alongside her husband, assisting in set and props construction and design for the Sardis Secondary theatre department. Eventually that involvement led her to CSOPA where she has spent the last ten years happily serving the students and families of this amazing company in whatever way was needed. Most recent stage credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Secondary Characters), Into the Woods (Secondary Characters) and Set Design, Oklahoma (Secondary Characters).
While musical theatre is her passion, after graduation she rounded out her experience working in management and owning her own franchise, and working in early childhood education as a nanny and in daycare settings.
A believer in lifelong learning, Lisa has taken various workshops and training courses focusing on theatre and child education. These days you can find her studiously preparing to complete her degrees in Psychology/Fine Arts (Theatre) on her way to an MFA.
Lisa is proud to call Chilliwack home, and she is thrilled to be working together with her friend and colleague AnneLise to continue the tradition of excellence and family that has made CSOPA such a great place for so many to adventure and learn.
She is honoured to work with the amazing students, staff, board and parents at CSOPA, and has truly found her life’s work.
