Jumpstart 1 – Age 5 Thursdays 3:30-4:30 p.m.  $220

JumpStart 1 is a games-based exploration of musical theatre. In the Fall term students are introduced to the world of theatre in a fun, relaxed environment. In the Spring term children will explore the importance of movement & dance to tell stories on stage. This play-based program teaches students important skills for performance and for life.

JumpStart 2 – Age 6 Thursdays 4:45-5:45pm – $220

JumpStart Year 2 builds on the skills students learned in JumpStart Year 1. The focus is still on learning through play, however, this program begins a gentle progression into structured rehearsals.  Fall term students step into the world of acting by creating a short scene together. Lessons will be taught both through structured rehearsal and games. Spring term students will learn a short song and dance taught through both structured rehearsal and play.

Acting OUT – Age 8-12 Tuesdays 4:00-5:00 p.m. $220

Participants will be introduced to the exciting world of theatre by working on their acting skills through a variety of fun theatre games.  Students will be encouraged to develop their imagination, creativity and self-confidence in a relaxed atmosphere.  This class is ideal for students who have little to no acting experience and want to explore their dramatic side without the pressure of a final performance.  The final scheduled class will be open to family and friends to watch (and possibly participate!) Online registration is open.

Acting WITH – Scene Studies – Age 8-12, Tuesdays 3:30-5:00 p.m. $345

Adding on to students’ knowledge of stage basics and character development, students will now join with a partner(s) to rehearse a scene.  The focus in this class will be on partner work, i.e. listening, reacting, trust, vocal and physical dynamics, and support of the other.  Students will showcase end-of-term scenes at the annual CSOPA Spring Festival.
